Steampunk Challenge

I figured I'd throw my hat in the ring for the CGSociety Steampunk challenge... granted its a beanie in a ring filled with fancy hats but I can only learn from the experience right?

The idea is to re-imagine a classical myth or tale in Steampunk, so I made like a 30 min rough sketch to hold my thread open at CGTalk. Expect more visually appealing images in the future.

Like I said, not particularly pretty but it gets the job done. I'll probably post some facial concepts and wing ideas soon.
